books-1149959I’ve loved reading books ever since I can remember. I wasn’t into fiction, the storybooks that shaped our childhood; instead I loved sinking my teeth into the true stories of the people who have shaped the world, and the incredible qualities these people possessed to influence those around them.

I can remember the time when I was reading an Autobiography by Jamie Oliver, the loveableĀ and eccentric British Chef. It was during the school holidays and I would schedule a certain time everyday where I would delve into this book. My perception of this book made it special to me. I wasn’t just sitting in my lounge room, relaxing on my couch, reading a book. I was having a conversation with Jamie, as if he was sitting on the couch beside me, telling me about his adventures, his love of food and his passion for life.

Books become alive as we immerse ourselves into them. As I have grown and developed, I can appreciate how special these conversations with the subject matters I was reading about were. To tap into that is something very special indeed.

Clearly, reading has had a profound affect on me, and has equipped me with knowledge, experiences and the imagination of some of the world’s most incredible people. With that in mind, I invite you to share my passion for reading – here are my top 5 book recommendations for entrepreneurs who are thinking about or in the thick of business.
